Our motto at Mprise Agriware is: people first. Our customers and colleagues are our top priority. Who are the people behind Agriware, and what drives them? Meet Garrett Walsh, a consultant at Mprise Agriware. What does he focus on at work and beyond?
1. What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending time outside and being in nature. I also love working on crafts, especially sewing projects and woodworking. I’m currently making a shelf and a chair. Additionally, I enjoy reading whenever I can, diving into all kinds of books.
2. What makes the horticulture industry interesting to you?
Growing up in this industry, I’ve always been drawn to how horticulture requires a deep understanding of cause-and-effect relationships to achieve a goal—like producing a finished plant by a specific date. I find it fascinating how we work with the seasons and face challenges beyond our control, which often leads to creative problem-solving. The physical, hands-on nature of the work and the constant challenges have always attracted me to this industry.
3. What Agriware moment will always stay with you?
For me, the most memorable moments are when I get to connect with the team and customers face-to-face. Although the North American team is spread out, those in-person opportunities whether at trade shows or during onsite customer visits, those moments are truly rewarding. Additionally, some of my favorite moments are delivering pre-sales demonstrations with my colleagues and then being selected by the customer. It’s a great feeling to see our hard work pay off and know we made an impact.
4. What’s your favorite vacation destination?
I love traveling to places with lots of nature. One of my favorite trips was to Hawaii last year. The tropical climate, diverse geography, and stunning natural beauty made it an unforgettable experience. Exploring such a unique environment was truly special.
5. What do you like to watch or listen to? (Music / movies / art / books)
Music-wise, I enjoy American folk, classic rock from the ’60s and ’70s, and western country with a folksy Americana feel. As for books, I read quite a bit and enjoy science fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, and general fiction.
